In the occasion of the World Press Freedom Day on May 3, 2020, the VOD news is launching its mobile application to share mobile users with its friendly reading & watching news experience by keeping users up to date on the completed and trusted news at single touch and two way communication which the users able to ask questions, send feedback, and submit tips of information to VOD. VOD application will publish all kinds of multimedia platforms and programs both in Khmer and English that’s producing by VOD team such as news articles-based websites, online radio, online television, and social media platforms.

VOD news website (vodkhmer.news) was launch by the Cambodian Center for Independent Media (CCIM) in 2011 which is now accommodating an average of 10,000 daily unique visitors and with its Facebook page (www.facebook.com/VODKhmer) which is gaining more than a million followers. Last year, VOD launched English Page of VOD News Website, which can be accessed through vodenglish.news. At the same day in 2014 World Press Freedom Day, VOD launched its Online Television News (vodkhmer.news/tv), which is now integrated in the VOD news website.
Internet users have increased 56% in 2019 if compare to 2018 while the people on social media and access news through social media also been increased to more than 8 million in 2019. On the other hand, number of mobile users have also been increased while mobile smart phones are accessible with low prices.
VOD Mobile Application is designed to promote advanced news features to cater audience concerns in terms of enhanced information dissemination and collecting centers. The VOD mobile application can be available on Play Store search #VOD or to download the VOD app use the links below:

VOD is rare of local independent media in Cambodia which has been take its important roles to provide public with accurate and update to date news on political, social, economic, Freedom of Expression, and Human Rights. VOD’s news and radio programs had been forced off-air from the local radio stations in September 2017 while other local and English languages independent media had also been closed.
