The Cambodian Center for Independent Media (CCIM) is offering a new opportunity to participate in an internship program with CCIM’s VOD newsroom. The internship program will offer a select number of candidates an opportunity to learn and practice journalism skills by working together with the VOD news team. This program is supported by the European Union and the International Media Support (IMS) under the project “Promoting and protecting freedom of expression and independent media in Cambodia.”
This program is offered for the period from August 2020 to September 2022. The applicant will undergo a three-month full-time internship or a six-month part-time internship.
To qualify, the applicant must:
1. Reside in Phnom Penh
2. Be at least 18 to 35 years of age
3. Be a student enrolled in media, mass communication, and journalism courses; or completed journalism training courses
4. Enjoy writing and willing to learn more
5. Have own laptop computer for writing and other purposes
The applicant will join the VOD news team and will be assigned with stories to produce with corresponding honorarium.
Participants will:
1. Gain knowledge and experience of working processes in the newsroom
2. Build relation with people from different level and reporting skill
3. Can become a professional journalist in the future
4. Have the opportunity to attend the event or media training courses of CCIM
5. Issued with certificate of completion by CCIM
