The Cambodian Center for Independent Media (CCIM) works to promote independent media, press freedom, freedom of expression, access to information and internet freedom. CCIM focuses on promoting and defending media freedom, freedom of expression, and access to information. CCIM is known for its efforts to support independent journalism and advocate for a vibrant media environment in Cambodia. Currently, CCIM focuses on 1) Citizen Journalists Network 2) Media Training 3) Media and Information Literacy Training 4) Advocacy Efforts.
- Position : Project Officer

Report to : Project Coordinator of the Media Training Unit
Job Summary:
The Project Officer for the Media Training Unit is primarily responsible in providing support to the Project Coordinator and Trainers in implementing the Newsroom training program and other projects under the unit, conducting the training/workshop and providing logistic support to the training, workshops or other activities of the Media Training Unit.
Duties:
- Involve in the planning of media training activities of the projects under the unit.
- Prepare the trainings, alumni meetings, certificate ceremonies or other workshops based on the project activities of the media training unit.
- Facilitate the training activities and other events of the unit.
- Prepare training reports, progress reports of the training and updates of monthly and quarterly, mid-term, annual reports, and other reports as required by the donors.
- Assist the Project Coordinator in budget planning and request budget for the training activities or events of the unit.
- Assist in the monitoring, evaluation and reporting of the training activities to ensure quality standards are met.
- Assist the Project Coordinator in collecting and tracking the data of the participants or the number of articles published by Newsroom trainees and Newsroom graduates, as well as data on other projects for the training unit.
- Prepare monthly reports of the training to the Project Coordinator.
- Propose recommendations for project management improvement based on the day-to-day implementation of the Newsroom training program and other activities of the unit.
- Input database in M&E (Monitoring and Evaluation) system for each project implemented by the unit.
- Assists in the delivery of journalism training courses, Newsroom training program or other workshops in accordance to the project agreement and agreed plans
- Assist the Trainers and the Project Coordinator in preparing training curriculums, training manuals, and materials for the journalism training courses.
- Ensure proper documentation of the training courses, and safe keeping of training materials used for the training unit.
- Work with the Trainers and the Project Coordinator in the preparation of the training courses such as drafting invitations, preparing request budget, finding quotations, booking venues, buying training materials, preparing attendance list, printing certificates and copying the documents for the training/workshop activities.
- Assist the Trainers and the Project Coordinator in conducting the journalism training courses or workshop of each project activities of the training unit.
- Assist the daily running of the newsroom training program in collaboration with Trainers and other stakeholders.
- Request budget for the field trip activities of the newsroom trainees and mentors around Phnom Penh or provinces.
- Prepare a check-list of each training, workshop or other activities of the training unit to ensure that those activities are running smoothly.
- Assist in providing support follow-up, monitoring, collect reports and outcome from interns on the internship/fellowship program to ensure the effectiveness of the program.
- Work with Trainers to prepare a list of outstanding trainees for internship opportunities.
- Assist to prepare internship program agreement and logistic.
- Prepare check-lists and regular follow-up on internship to provide weekly output to the unit.
- Assist to collect articles and media products that have been published and broadcasted via independent media institution partners by Newsroom graduates.
- Assist in collecting the engagement data of Newsroom article posted on social media such as the number of reactions, shares and comments from audiences and compiling them.
- Assist in providing ideas and drafting case studies or success story of the trainees.
- Prepare progress reports to send to the Project Coordinator,
- Other duties as required

Job Requirement:

- At least 1 year of experience in non-government organizations and other civil society groups;
- Good interpersonal and communication skills;
- Good spoken and written English skill is an advantage;

Report to : Project Coordinator of the Cambodia Human Rights Activity (CHRA)
Job Summary:
The Project Officer for the CHRA project is primarily responsible in providing support to the Project Coordinator and Trainers in implementing the project activities, conducting field mentoring and coaching for community media in 12 provinces, conducting the training/workshop and providing logistic support to the training, workshops and data tracking or other activities of the project.
Duties:
- Involve in the planning of project activities under the unit.
- Organize and facilitate the training sessions, physical/virtual meetings, and workshops based on the project activities and other events under CCIM.
- Assist the Project Coordinator in budget planning and request budget for the training activities or events of the unit.
- Assist in the monitoring, evaluation and reporting of the project activities to ensure quality standards are met.
- Assist the Project Coordinator in collecting and tracking the data of the participants or the number of articles published by citizen journalists and community media teams, as well as data on other projects for the content performance.
- Support the Project Coordinator in preparing and drafting periodic narrative reports
- Prepare monthly reports of the project to the Project Coordinator.
- Input database in M&E (Monitoring and Evaluation) system for the project implemented by the unit.
- Assists in the delivery of training courses, or other workshops in accordance to the project agreement and agreed plans.
- Support in administrative and other supportive documents such as meeting minutes, meeting attendance lists, invitation letters, partners and target groups contact details listings.
- Work with the Trainers and the Project Coordinator in the preparation of the training courses such as drafting invitations, preparing request budget, finding quotations, booking venues, buying training materials, preparing attendance list, printing certificates and copying the documents for the training/workshop activities.
- Request budget for the field trip activities of the newsroom trainees and mentors around Phnom Penh or provinces.
- Monitoring and managing social media
- Monitor and ensure the quality of community media contents on Facebook pages and collect content engagement data on website and Facebook pages.
- Collaborate effectively with various units to ensure the delivery of high-quality outcomes and the successful achievement of project objectives.
- Assist in editing news article and producing videos
- Other duties
- Perform other tasks as required by the direct supervisor or Management Committee upon consultation.

Job Summary:
The Communication Officer is responsible for developing and executing effective communication strategies to support the organization’s mission and objectives with visibility.
Duties:
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists, bloggers, NGO partners and other media outlets.
- Develop social media strategies, action plans and implement for organization to increase media coverage and public visibility
- Manage and update the organization’s website and social media channels (e.g., Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram).
- Create engaging and informative content for digital platforms, including podcasts, videos, and infographics.
- Monitor media coverage and prepare social media reports.
- Manage media inquiries and respond to requests for information.
- Monitor social media trends and engage with online audiences.
- Develop and implement social media campaigns to support organizational goals.
- Track and analyze website and social media metrics for report and monitoring.
- Taking photos and videos for media use
- Monitor online conversations and social media mentions to identify and address any potential reputational risks.

- Position : Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Officer

Report to : Executive Director and Media Director
Job Summary:
The MEL Officer is primarily responsible in implementing the M&E plans of CCIM and the Cambodia Human Rights Activity (CHRA) project. He or she also works closely with all project coordinators and officers in implementing the respective M&E plans of the projects.
Duties:
- Prepares detailed implementation of M&E plans of the CHRA project in accordance to its Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Plan and in compliance to USAID’s MEL guidelines.
- Ensure that CHRA M&E periodic reports, including those of the other projects, are prepared in collaboration with the Project Coordinator and project team members.
- Assists respective project teams in developing and implementing M&E plans of their respective projects and collaborate with them the collection of M&E data and preparation of periodic reports.
- Develops M&E data collection system and regularly collect M&E data from respective projects for encoding in the said system.
- Ensures that M&E data are regularly encoded in the M&E data collection system for easy retrieval and generation of reports.
- Perform other tasks as may be assigned by the direct supervisor or Management Committee.
Job Requirement:

- Minimum 3 years’ experience in implementing M&E, including data collection and collation.
- Capacity to produce quality briefs and reports in both Khmer and English
