ABOUT CCIM

The Cambodian Center for Independent Media (CCIM) works to promote independent media, press freedom, freedom of expression, access to information and internet freedom. CCIM focuses on promoting and defending media freedom, freedom of expression, and access to information. CCIM is known for its efforts to support independent journalism and advocate for a vibrant media environment in Cambodia.  Currently, CCIM focuses on 1) Citizen Journalists Network 2) Media Training 3) Media and Information Literacy Training 4) Advocacy Efforts.

Position           : Advocacy Coordinator

Location              : Phnom Penh (with travel to provinces)

Work Status       : Full-time (fixed term duration)

Report to             : Media Development Director and Executive Director

Job Summary:

The Advocacy Coordinator leads and coordinates CCIM’s advocacy work on journalist protection, press freedom, freedom of expression and internet freedom in Cambodia. The role involves monitoring and reporting on risks to journalists; coordinating legal and policy support; organizing advocacy campaigns and public events; conducting policy research; and engaging with stakeholders including civil society, policymakers, and international partners to strengthen journalist protection, press freedom, freedom of expression and internet freedom in Cambodia.
