Media and Information Literacy (MIL)

Project at a Glance

CCIM began the Media and Information Literacy (MIL) training program in 2014 to equip young people with the skills needed to navigate today’s digital information environment. With the rapid advancement of digital technology, many Cambodians—especially youth—now rely on social media platforms such as Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube as their primary sources of information and interactions. As youth increasingly rely on social media for news and expression, the program addresses risks such as misinformation, cyberbullying, and online harassment. Through training, workshops, and online campaigns, CCIM trains university students and marginalized youth in critical media skills, promotes safe and responsible digital engagement, and builds practical media production abilities. To date, the program has reached over 500 young people across Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Battambang, Kampong Cham, Svay Rieng, and Ratanakiri.
