Citizens Trained to Report Rights Issues

The Cambodian Center for Independent Media (CCIM) organized a two-day training from 17-18 February 2021 in Phnom Penh on “Hard News Writing and Reporting Skill” to 25 citizen journalists across the country.

The aim of the training is to enhance the capacity of citizen journalists in news reporting on issues related to migration, human trafficking, labor rights and land rights. During this training, citizen journalists increased their understanding of basic journalism and learn practical skills such as brainstorming story ideas, gathering information, interviewing skills, and producing the news reports.

The training is funded by the USAID through DCA under the project “Advancing Rights in Cambodia”.
