Project at a Glance
The Citizen Journalism Program of CCIM aims to engage the public, particularly in the provinces, to report information to the media and social media as a contribution to inform the public about what is happening around the country. CCIM has been engaged in training citizen journalists since 2013 and currently expanding the network of citizen journalists to widen the participation of the Cambodian citizens in media reporting. Citizen journalists are playing a vital role in documenting and reporting community issues to the public that are often underreported by mainstream media. In 2023, the CCIM pilot Community media initiative aims at empowering citizens to have their own platforms for sharing information from their community. This program focuses on training CJs to operate their own community media.
